Free Medical Camp Launched for Flood-Affected Communities in Sujawal
In a collaborative effort to support flood-affected communities, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Regional Campus Thatta and the We Care Foundation have jointly launched a Free Medical Camp at Bathoro Road, Sujawal.
This initiative comes in response to the ongoing hardships faced by residents in flood-hit areas, where access to basic healthcare remains a critical challenge. The medical camp aims to provide immediate relief to vulnerable populations by offering free consultations, essential medicines, and health screenings to those impacted by the recent floods.
Healthcare professionals, volunteers, and support staff from both organizations came together on the ground to ensure smooth operations of the camp. The services focused on treating waterborne diseases, skin infections, respiratory issues, and general medical needs—conditions that often surge in the aftermath of natural disasters.
Speaking about the initiative, representatives from AIOU and We Care Foundation emphasized the importance of community outreach and compassion in times of crisis. “This medical camp is a small step toward restoring hope and health in areas that need it the most,” said one of the volunteers.
The local response has been overwhelmingly positive, with dozens of patients receiving care within the first few hours of operation. The organizers also distributed health awareness materials and hygiene kits to help families safeguard themselves from potential post-flood illnesses.
