Shifa Foundation proudly organized a consultative workshop at Allama Iqbal Open University as part of the 4th International Conference on Early Childhood Development (ECD). The workshop brought together a dynamic group of national and international stakeholders, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, all deeply invested in shaping a better future for young children in Pakistan and beyond.
This collaborative session was aimed at engaging participants in meaningful dialogue around the challenges, gaps, and opportunities in the current Early Childhood Development landscape. With a focus on holistic child development, the workshop created space for diverse voices to contribute toward a shared vision for advancing ECD policies and programs.
During the session, participants exchanged insights and experiences on topics such as inclusive education, child health and nutrition, parental support, and capacity-building for educators. Shifa Foundation facilitated the discussions to ensure actionable recommendations were captured—laying the groundwork for stronger multi-sectoral collaboration.
The presence of academicians, government officials, civil society members, and international development partners further enriched the conversation, reflecting a growing consensus on the need for integrated and culturally relevant ECD interventions across Pakistan.
